Opening: Lookout Tower (Rozhledna) by Schwestern
We are unveiling a brand-new installation called The Lookout Tower, created by artists Iveta Šalamounová and Monika Cihlářová, also known as Schwestern, right in the Tower of Kunsthalle. This meditative space for the desired audio-visual detox will also become part of a unique movement performance by Eva Urbanová on Wednesday, August 23rd, at two different times (first at 18:15, second at 19:15).

The site-specific installation offers a space for audiovisual detox and relaxation after visiting our exhibitions. You can contemplate on what you've seen in the gallery or simply clear your mind completely. This year, the architectural-artistic duo Schwestern created an installation called "The Lookout Tower". The three highest windows in the former substation building reveal a view of the unique Klárov area, framed on one side by sought-after views of Prague Castle and on the other by the Letná skyline. In the enlarged window frames, you can find comfortable seating similar to cozy home bay windows. The focal point of the meditative installation is a spiral staircase leading into illuminated emptiness. Find repose in art.
Studio Schwestern
Architektonické studio Schwestern založily dvě sestry Monika Cihlářová a Iveta Šalamounová. Monika vystudovala fakultu architektury na ČVUT, Iveta absolvovala AVU v ateliéru Intermédia II. pod vedením Jiřího Příhody a UMPRUM v ateliéru Design nábytku a interiéru. Vzájemný dialog a doplňování se je klíčovým aspektem pro společné projekty. Zabývají se architekturou, designem, uměním a příležitostně pořádají edukační činností. Ke každému novému projektu přistupují s velkou energií a nasazením za účelem vytvořit jedinečný prostor. Zároveň se snaží pracovat s kvalitními materiály, jež jsou obnovitelné a minimálně zatěžují přírodu.
